REGULAR SEASON AWARDS
League MVP- 6-3 SG Duje Dukan – Deerfield – North Carolina
Week in and week out, Duje Dukan was nothing less then great. Though he is not a flashy player or a top-flight athlete, Duje is a team player and he flat out produced in every game he played in. Dukan is a spectacular outside shooter, and is a very smart and savvy offensive player. He is very long, so defensively it is very tough for players to get by him, and he blocks a lot of shots. Duje only allowed his North Carolina team to lose 2 games all season (once in the regular season and once in the playoffs), as he and Corday Sims (who also was up for the award) were the top duo in the league. Duje is definitely a prospect to watch in the north suburbs, as he has tons of upside, and could be an impact player more often then you might expect.
League Scoring Champ- Nus Kahn – Maine East – Maryland
Maryland may have struggled to win games, but Nus sure didn’t struggle to score points, as this combo guard lit it up from inside and outside week after week. He will be playing for Maine East varsity this year as a sophomore.
3 pt Champ- Kyle O’Keefe – Barrington – Duke
O’Keefe came out of seemingly nowhere to be one of the breakout stars of the freshman/sophomore league. Kyle hit 8 three’s in Duke’s playoff loss. He will be playing varsity at Barrington.
Top Playmaker- Patrick Woolfolk – North Lawndale – Wake Forest
Woolfolk, the playoff MVP, is a crafty combo guard that just gets it done on the basketball court. He is a great scorer and has a tight handle on the rock. He will be playing varsity for a talented North Lawndale squad.
Top Freshman- Garret Jones – Evanston - Iowa
Jones really elevated himself in this league to being considered an elite prospect in the class of 2011. Garret is a terrific all around prospect, and can dominate games on both ends of the floor. In one game against Iowa, he scored 27 of his teams 36 points while only playing 30 minutes in the 40 minute game. Jones is playing varsity for an Evanston squad that ranks amongst the top 10 in the state coming into the season.
Top Post Presence- Jermaine Winfield – North Lawndale- Purdue
Winfield can only be accurately described with one word: Dominant. The extremely well-built 6-4 prospect was unstoppable in the post, plain and simple. He did not play in a game that he didn’t get a double-double in, and had a few 30 point- 15 rebound performances. Jermaine will be a contributor for North Lawndale’s varsity this year.
Top Defender- Rashad Wahab- Lincoln Park - Illinois
Wahab is a top-notch athlete, to say the least, as he is very strong and very fast. Rashad is one of the top on-ball defenders in the state, and led the league in steals. He rarely let his opponent score on him. Wahab will most likely be one of the top 7 or 8 players in Lincoln Park’s varsity rotation.
Top Prospect- Brian Fabrizius – Hersey- Florida State
Fabrizius is oozing with potential, and the sky is the limit for the 6-8 forward. He is very thinly built, but that is partly because he grew so fast. As he fills out and gets stronger, he could become very good. He is already a very good ball handler for his size, good at driving to the hoop, and is a great outside shooter- much like his older brother Luke (committed to Dayton). He isn’t as aggressive as he could be defensively and on the glass, but he is pretty good in both of those categories, and the aggressiveness will come with time. Keep an eye on him this year for Hersey.

PLAYOFF AWARDS
The 2007 Full Package Fall Exposure League brought to you by IllinoisHSbasketball.com is now over, and a champion has been crowned in the freshman/ sophomore league as well as on the varsity level. Here is a look at the top playoff performers from the Fro/Soph league...
Playoff MVP- Patrick Woolfolk- Wake Forest
Woolfolk led Wake Forest to the league title, beating some star studded teams along the way. Woolfolk is a flashy combo guard with big time potential. He is fast and athletic and has a sick handle on the ball. Patrick scored when Wake Forest needed him too, but spent most of the time penetrating and dishing, and hitting his teammates for open shots. Patrick is definitely a prospect to watch this year for North Lawndale.
Runner-up- Jermaine Winfield- Purdue
Winfield was hands down the most dominant player throughout the playoffs, as he averaged an astounding 35.5 points and 17 rebounds per game. Jermaine has a man’s body and knows how to use it. He is very polished in the post and has a very nice touch around the hoop. He is a tenacious rebounder and a very good shot blocker. If he can grow, or get a little more of a versatile game, he could be a big time prospect.
