Full Package is proud to welcome former WNBA Star Korie Hlede to our coaching Family
Full Package welcomes Korie Hlede to our coaching family. Korie will be coaching travel teams and doing skill training with Full Package. A native of Zagrib, Croatia, Korie brings a wealth of professional and international coaching and playing experience to the Full Package family.
Korie graduated from Duquesne University where she was a two-time Kodak All-American and has set school records in many categories. She was the 4th overall pick in the inaugural season of the WNBA. Korie played for the Detroit Shock, where she finished 2nd in the rookie of the year nomination, the Utah Starzz, where she led the WNBA in 3 point field goal percentage, and then for the New York Liberty, where she also led the WNBA in 3 point field goal percentage during one her years in New York. Korie also played in the first division of the European league for Spain, Turkey, Hungary, Coratia and Brazil.
Korie has coached at the professional level with the Detroit Shock as an assistant, where she helped lead the Shock to the 2003 WNBA Championship. She also was an assistant coach for the 2004 WNBA All-Star Game. Last year, Korie was an assistant coach at the University of Rhode Island.
Korie has decided that after years of playing and coaching at the professional and college levels, she would like to pursue her passion for youth basketball. Korie’s coaching ability and great personality will fit in well with the Full Package philosophy and culture.
